David has 35 years of professional experience. His former employment includes work for two architectural firms in Atlanta and five firms in Pittsburgh. Concurrent with this experience, David has served private clients through his own architectural practice, building a record of creative and responsive design for neighborhood businesses, single and multi-family residences, community planning and healthcare.
David’s extensive work for past employers includes architectural design, master planning, project management, and team leadership. He has performed facility design for transit, military, educational, institutional, commercial, housing, recreational, health care, long-term care, and religious facilities.
As part of his duties for a prior employer, David led professional design teams into Afghanistan on twelve occasions and provided construction phase design support for one year on assignment in Iraq. He led or participated in other projects in Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE, with travel to these locations and throughout the Middle East.
David obtained his professional education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1983 and a Master of Architecture degree in 1986. He has been registered as an architect in Pennsylvania since 1987, and is also registered in Ohio, West Virginia, and Oregon. He has been a member of the American Institute of Architects since 1987 and has held accreditation in NCARB since 1988. He holds a Secret DoD Clearance which was obtained in 2010.
David has long-standing interest and experience in environmentally sustainable building design, and is a founding member of the AIA Pittsburgh Committee on the Environment (COTE), and the AIA Pennsylvania COTE. He was admitted as a LEED Accredited Professional in 2000.
David is a native of the Pittsburgh area, originally from Canonsburg. He and his wife Kathy have made their home in Robinson Township since 1987.
